Jesus is with you always

“I am with you always” is enough for the soul to live upon, no matter who forsakes us. Human presence is precious, but it is never ultimate. Friends may leave, family may fail, brethren may misunderstand, and the heart may feel alone, but Christ does not abandon those He has purchased with His blood.

He said, “I am with you always, even to the end of the age” (Matthew 28:20). That promise is not shallow comfort. It is the presence of the risen Lord with His people in every sorrow, duty, trial, weakness, and lonely place.

Paul knew what it meant to be deserted by men, yet he was not forsaken by Christ. “At my first defense no one supported me, but all deserted me… But the Lord stood with me and strengthened me” (2 Timothy 4:16-17). That is the difference Christ makes. The absence of men does not mean the absence of God.

So let the soul rest here. If Christ is with us, we are not finally alone. If Christ holds us, we are not abandoned. If Christ remains, then even when every earthly support falls away, we still have enough to live, suffer, serve, and endure.

“He Himself has said, ‘I will never desert you, nor will I ever forsake you’” (Hebrews 13:5).
